What is epoxy ?

Epoxy is a co polymer formed from two different monomers – the resin and the hardener. The process of polymerization is called curing and takes place under controlled conditions. The resulting polymer is heavily cross linked. Because of the rigidity and the strength of the co polymer, it is commonly used for adhesives, paints and coatings, industrial tooling and composites, aerospace appliances, marine appliances, consumer appliances. Epoxy adhesive are also known as engineering adhesives or structural adhesives and are used in construction of aircraft, automobiles, bicycles, boats, and applications which require high strength bonds.
